Facilities—
CROET Building

CROET is located in a building shared with basic science departments in the School of Medicine in the heart of the Oregon Health & Science University Marquam Hill Campus in Portland, OR. This arrangement maximizes opportunities for interaction among the respective faculties and minimizes costs. CROET's facilities were dedicated during a week of festivities in September 1993.

CROET occupies 50,000 square feet (3 1/4 contiguous floors of functional space) with close proximity to animal quarters and other research institutes and schools. The facility enables more than 100 people to be engaged in research, outreach and education that helps position Oregon as a national and Pacific Rim leader in occupational and environmental health. See Core Research Facilities.

Laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, and administrative and staff offices are provided with advanced computers connected by OHSU's network. A technical library focused on occupational health houses CROET's Toxicology Information Center and is equipped with access to extensive toxicology and medical databases. Conference rooms and a classroom accommodate CROET staff, and the CROETweb.com website provides health and safety resources to Oregon industry and labor.
